Teleco’s new Wi-Fi-based system lets you control the Silent Plus or Clima e-Van air conditioners from any distance via your smartphone. If you’re near the vehicle, you can use your Bluetooth-linked mobile phone as if it were a remote control.
The Wi-Fi interface lets you monitor and activate all the functions: these include the temperature setting, air conditioner on-off, fan speed adjustment and the timer.
All these tasks are controlled via the Tuya platform which, for security reasons, requires the creation of a user-specific account as with all products managed via the cloud. Once this first step has been completed, the user will need to pair his/her smartphone, at which point the air conditioner is recognized as a Telair accessory and all its functions can be used.
For more practical control, it’s preferable to use the new Wi-Fi system together with a Teleco router that features mobile phone connectivity. This makes everything easier for the user to control as the air conditioner is linked to the router Wi-Fi network. Therefore, as long as the router is switched on, the Internet connection the device needs to communicate with the app on the smartphone will be created automatically.
The Wi-Fi system does not, of course, require the use of cables or additional control units. It is also compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, allowing the air conditioner to be voice-controlled.
The Wi-Fi option can be requested either when purchasing the air conditioner or added subsequently: simply open the filter compartment and connect the Wi-Fi module to the connector that is already there. The Wi-Fi module can also be added to previously purchased Silent Plus and Clima e-Van models; however, in this case it is also necessary to install a control board connection cable.
